Luckily, the 2012 and 2013 summer fashions are easily created using inexpensive clothing that is either already owned or can be replicated with ease. Clothing that has been forgotten about for years can now be reused and look just like brand new, hip clothing.
The sand-blasted look is making a comeback this year and there are many ways to build upon that look without spending a fortune. Older jeans, for example, will fade over time. The sand-blasted look is designed to make new jeans appear to have a worn look in the center of the pant legs. Joe’s Jeans recently created a line of colored sand-blasted pants that can be worn with plain T-shirts to make a casual statement. Old jeans that are already faded can be re-worn or the sandblasting can be done at home to a pair of inexpensive jeans using an air compressor and ultra fine sand.
Saturated denim is also becoming increasingly popular this year. The style involves slightly distressing the color of the clothing to create a brighter shine. The style is not just limited to jeans either. Saturated denim jackets are available through popular designers such as Fubu. Jnco also offers a variety of saturated denim clothing that fits in with their other clothing lines.
Moccasin style shoes are also making a comeback this year. The shoes typically come in neutral colors such as brown or black, but bright, simple styles are also on the market. Because moccasins are made from inexpensive cowhide, even the fine quality shoes tend to be lower price in comparison to trendy designs from previous years. The neutral colored shoes can be worn with almost any outfit, adding a touch of casual class.
Multiple layers of clothes are becoming popular for colder summer nights. Having baggy shirts and pants will help to keep you cool during the warm day, and then adding a thin windbreaker jacket and a cozy, open sweater at night rather then a thick hoodie or jacket makes for a hip look. Because plain windbreakers never really go out of style, the jacket can be reused for several years and still look new and trendy. Sweater trends tend to come and go but a basic, plain colored one will suit the purpose of the outfit. Both jackets can be found in your existing wardrobe or added to it by visiting your local clothing super center.
